Southern Britain - Marine Zooplankton Guides:

This series of three illustrated guides collates taxonomic identification information for the zooplankton groups that have been recorded from sampling off Plymouth since 1888. It has been prepared primarily for local identification and training purposes.

The range of species described covers the majority found over the shallower northern European continental shelf (excluding the Mediterranean Sea), so the guides should be widely useful. For all groups there is information on their morphology, guidance on their identification and bibliographies giving identification resources.

Dr Dave Conway, who wrote the guide, said “This is the first single, comprehensive, taxonomic identification guide to the range of zooplankton species and larval stages of southern Britain. Hopefully it will make tackling zooplankton identification easier for a wider audience.”
