Median Wasp (Dolichovespula media) ?
I've noticed these wasps visiting the garden in increasing numbers this summer. They mingle with the bees on anything flowering, currently Echinops. They're the same size and shape as common wasps but the black stripes are broader and yellow stripes correspondingly narrower.
I'm guessing Median Wasp, Dolichovespula media
Can anyone confirm?
Cheers,
Tom.
