Cimbex femoratus - Birch Sawfly:

I'm new to this forum, so please excuse me if I've posted in the wrong place.

Tonight I found a Cimbex femoratus - Birch Sawfly in Bollington, Nr Macclesfield, Cheshire. It fell in my garage as I opened the door and was struggling to fly. I lifted it onto an upturned frisby and put it in the sun until it warmed up/recovered enough to be able to fly away. I have a couple of birches in my back garden, it's the first one I have ever seen though will have to look out for the larvae next year.
