‘The Big Garden Birdwatch’
At Hale Park 29th January 2011.
Take the chance to get involved in a national survey in conjunction with the RSPB and the Hale Heritage Champion, the Artery of Life Project officer will be on hand to identify common bird species and discuss what brings them to this popular site.
Starting at 11am and counting birds seen in the hour, our results will be fed into the national records and provide important data to monitor our feathered friends, over 30 years of previous records have enabled us to monitor crashes in House Sparrow and Starling populations and may help to aid their recovery.
No prior knowledge required, bring binoculars if you have them and wrap up warm.
