New Book On The Larger Water-beetles

Post by SteveMcBill »

Many of you may already know that it's the AES Annual Exhibition and Trade Fair
today (18th October 2008) at Kempton Park Racecourse (just outside London).
Further details can be seen over at:

http://www.amentsoc.org/events/listings/069/

The Amateur Eentomologists' Society (AES) is pleased to announce that it will be
launching a new book at the show:- The larger water beetles of the British Isles

This is the only modern publication with colour illustrations of all
of our aquatic coleopteran megafauna and it provides the most
up-to-date distribution maps revealing their current distributions.

Jam-packed with fascinating details of their life-histories, this book
covers 11 species including the six native 'Great Diving Beetles' and
the 'Silver Water Beetles'. It is also copiously illustrated and has
much additional information including details of observed
climate-induced range changes and the conservation measures required
to ensure their continued survival. The cover is also beautifully
illustrated by the famous wildlife illustrator, Richard Lewington.

As i understand it, the cost of the book at the show will be £8.90 for
members and £11.90 for non-members.

Steve :)
