An Example of Why LRC Records Are Important:

Obviously, LRC records are in reality records supplied, in the main, by amateur naturalists and recorders but the article below does indicate why it is important to get your records into your local LRC AND why it is important for the LRC to contribute that data, via the NBN Gateway, to other recording schemes. The example here shows the Small Magpie moth but is just as applicable to any other species recorded within the UK. If you don't currently supply your records to your local LRC please do so asap - and if your LRC does not supply the data they hold to the general public by uploading them to the NBN Gateway please talk to them and persuade them to do so as soon as is possible.

Thank you.
