Denticollis linearis and Donacia vulgaris:

Hi All,

I need confirmation of these two species below before sending the records off to RODIS.

The Denticollis linearis is correct but the Donacia doesn't look like D.vulgaris - not compared to my specimens anyway. It could be D.semicuprea, which is a fairly common species, but the angle of the photo is not right to see some features.

Cheers,
Don

Hi Don,

Thanks for your suggestion about D.semicuprea. This was a possibilty that I had considered. On the Watford Coleoptera Group site it states that D.semicuprea was unique in having a longitudinal pronotal groove.
This groove appears to be present on my example.

I will post two other images of the beast.

Cheers,
Harry
