BENHS Beetle (Coleoptera) Training Days - 2010

Post by SteveMcBill »

BENHS Beetle (Coleoptera) Training Days - 2010:

Before the 2010 collecting/recording season gets fully underway, there are three beetle identification workshops at the BENHS HQ at Dinton Pastures Country Park just outside Reading.

The first on Saturday 27th February 2010 is on the Staphylinidae (led by Roger Booth, Peter Hodge and Colin Welch) and will be suitable for those starting on this group.

The second is on Saturday 20th March 2010. It will cover the Carabidae (ground beetles), will be led by Mark Telfer and John Walters and will be suitable for beginners (but with provision for the more experienced).

The third workshop is on 24th April 2010 when Mike Morris will take on some of the weevil groups. This may be more suitable for the experienced person.

Full details for all training daus should be available on the Society's website (http://www.benhs.org.uk).

BENHS workshops are free and open to all but, as it may be necessary to limit numbers, we ask you to book a place in advance with our Indoor Meetings Secretary, Ian McLean (ianmclean@waitrose.com).

For those new to Coleoptera the Society has an extensive collection of British Coleoptera, including the Joy collection, available for consultation at its rooms. Please see the Society's website for access details or contact me.
