Double Dart?

Post by Tim_Ward »

I've been getting so many Heart&Dart's in the trap that I hardly look at them but this one looked a little different. I wonder if it could be a Double Dart? I've not recorded one of those before and would welcome confirmation (or not).
Thanks, Tim

Hi Tim

Just another Heart and Dart I'm afraid. Notice the dark band across front of collar.
A Double Dart would have been nice, not in this case though.

Hi Greg. Thanks for that. I hadn't realised the significance of the dark band on the collar but will look for it in future.
Cheers, Tim

The distinctive marking on the head is one of the best ways of identifying the Heart & Dart, especially when the wings are hidden from view or it is worn.
