Golden-bloomed Grey Long-horn Beetle:
Hi All,
A recent visit to Burton Mere Wetlands proved quite rewarding with my first record of Golden-bloomed Grey Long-horn Beetle (Agapanthia villoviridescens). It would be interesting to know the status of this impressive beetle in Cheshire.
Cheers,
H

Hello Harry,
There are few records of this impressive beetle in the North West.
However, it seems to be getting commoner, and I have taken it from Shropshire and Cheshire in the last few years. It has recently been taken in Lancs and within the last few days from Lamaload Reservoir in Cheshire.
So, you could say at present the Cheshire status is still 'scarce'.
Cheers,
Don

Hi Don,
Thanks for the info, much appreciated.
From a description of an insect from a birding mate last year I guessed that it was present at Burton Mere.
Very pleased to have seen my own, really impressive beast.
Cheers,
H

Hello Stephen,
Useful records !
Most so far are just singletons recorded ad hoc and yours are over a number of years from a particular area.
Any chance you could submit them using RODIS ?
Cheers,
Don
