Interesting spider record received recently from Chris Felton of the World Museum Liverpool.

Chris pootered some small spiders that were running on liverwort growing on a very wet platform wall at Green Lane station, part of the Wirral Merseyrail route. The spider was the linyphid, Lessertia dentichelis, an uncommon species that is generally found in damp and humid caves, mines and sewers.

Apparently Chris and his pooter attracted a lot of attention from station staff but he managed to escape arrest and leg it back to Liverpool !

Being alert to unusual habitat situations clearly pays dividends.
