Golden-ringed Dragonfly

A single of this species (Cordulegaster boltonii)was seen and photographed along Forge Brook in the Northwich Woodlands yesterday - a new species for the Northwich Woodlands area and with less than 10 Cheshire records (am I correct David) an excellent find. I do wonder whether this species is slowly expanding its range? This is the fourth confirmed record for the species in Cheshire. The other three are from the Dee and South Cheshire. It is a fascinating find and I hope that there will be further sightings in years to come.
