Spiders or Mites ?

I was cleaning out a wooden box in the garden. I picked out what I thought were two grey plastic pellets about 1cm long but when left for a minute or two they moved and appear to be spiders or mites.

Please see attached photos. Anyone ID them please ?

I realise now that they are Hedgehog ticks.
So that's what's been visiting that box !

Yes, you are correct; they are Hedgehog Ticks (Ixodes hexagonus) - you obviously have Hedgehogs visiting your garden overnight and possibly sleeping in the box.
