Oak Tree Pugs:

Despite having the new Pug books we are still insecure about the positive ID of some Pugs. We are sure some of those below are Oak Tree Pugs but would appreciate confirmations for reporting purposes.

Thanks,
Bob & Helen

Hi Bob & Helen,

It is a challenge, as you probably know, to identify some of the Pug species from each other when they are fresh
and well marked, even with the aid of Brian Hancock's excellent little book. But, when they start to fade, as the
Spring species are now, it is even more difficult. I must admit some of your pictures do resemble Oak-tree Pugs
with the odd Brindle thrown in, going by wing shape and the feint markings that are left.

As there is no certain way to identify them other than possible dissection I would be inclined to leave them
off the records.

Maybe the two Steve's could advise further.
