Carpatolechia decorella???

Morning All,

142 moths of 29 species last night (08/08/2019) was rather disappointing, considering the overnight temperature was 16.9 C minimum.

99 LYUs, so the other 28 species was made up of just 43 moths.

Amongst the 14 micro species I found what I think is Carpatolechia decorella, a species that has variable markings, but this individual is much paler than any I have recorded before. Wing lenth is 6mm.

As usual, confirmation, correction or comments appreciated.

Yes Mel Carpatolechia decorella
Not one I see that often over here.
I had Stenolechia gemmella here last night, which is similar.

Steve

in contrast to both Steve and Mel, we didn't trap - thankfully as we had continuous torrential rain with regular thunderstorms practically all night .... and I reckon we're no more than six miles from Mel!

Cheers,
Steve

Thanks Steve,

Nice to know I can get the occasional micro correct.

I was expecting some rain last night, but put my trap out in case the storm that is forecast for tonight prevents me from trapping for GMS.

It was still raining at 6am this morning, but never heard any thunder at all.
