Acleris ferrugana?

This little Tortix moth came to my kitchen window last night. The book says that in most case dissection will be necessary to determine the difference between Acleris ferrugana and Acleris notana but I wonder if this might be one of the exceptions; the distinguishing features of Acleris ferrugana are all very clear.

Hi Tim
It probably is Acleris ferrugana as you have plenty of oaks nearby but as you also have birch I would suggest saving it until you have been on your dissection course.

Hi Steve,
Sadly it escaped. Should I record it via iRecord as A. ferrugana?

Hi Tim
Can you record it as Acleris ferrugana/notana on the recording template.
