Mysterious red blob!

Dear All,
I attach some photos of a mysterious red blob that was found at the CMI! event Life on the Hedge on 11th September, down on Claremont Farm.
The 'blob' was spotted in a tree quite high up, so we don't have any close up pics.
If anyone can tell us what it is, we would be very grateful.
