Sparrowhawk in Garden in Runcorn

Postby SteveMcBill on Mon Mar 23, 2009 4:54 pm

A Sparrowhawk in the Garden in Runcorn, Cheshire:

March 2009 has been a good month for birds in the garden in Runcorn (SJ54038215) with Siskins, Goldfinches, Blue Tits, Great Tits, Long-tailed Tits, Coal Tit, Wren, Dunnock (Hedge Accentor), House Sparrow, Greenfinches, Chaffinches, Bullfinch, Robin, Blackbirds, Song Thrush, Starling, Collared Dove, Magpie, Carrion Crow, Woodpigeon as well as Brambling (last Saturday) and today (Monday 23rd March '09) a Sparrowhawk sitting in the garden Rowan tree for about 40 seconds before carrying on.

I wonder if next month will bring anything new and/or unusual (there was a Goldcrest in February but it has been quite some time since the garden was visited by Great-spotted Woodpecker, Nuthatch or Jay)?

Steve :)
