Green-veined White Larvae

Post by stevehind »

Green-veined White Larvae:

Only occasionally do I find larvae in the moth trap, although I am never sure whether they have been attracted by the light, or have just simply dropped in during their nightly wanderings. On the morning of 18th October 2014 the trap contained a larva of the Green-veined White (Pieris napi), which according to my reference books is a rather late date, as they all say that larvae are present only until September, so how unusual is it to find Green-veined White larvae in October ?

Regards,
Steve
