So far... everything earlier than ever before...:

Hi folks,

Though I've only recorded four species of butterfly thus far this year, they all share one thing in common... I recorded them on dates that were the earliest ever within my recording area, namely:

Large White Pieris brassicae on 26th March
Green-veined White Artogeia napi on 25th March co-incidentally, the same date as last year
Small Tortoiseshell Aglais urticae on 29th February, and
Peacock Butterfly Inachis io on 24th March.

Brimstone yesterday (27th March 2012) on Halton Moss and lots of Small Torts - Runcorn Hill LNR too...
