Unidentified micro - help please

Post by JohnD »

Hi

I've been catching-up with some photos of moths I couldn't immediately identify, and the attached has stumped me. Be grateful for any suggestions. Caught on 7-9-21.

Thanks

John

Hi John - I'd say something in the genus Grapholita: funebrana (maybe the most likely?), tenebrosana or janthinana.

Paul

Thanks very much for that. It's certainly in the right size range to be funebrana, but I think the markings in the photo are too indistinct to be sure which of the Grapholitas it is. Next time I see something like it I'll try and get a better image.

Cheers
