(very Pale) Larger yellow Underwing?
Could do with a bit more in terms of back wing, also a shot of underwing would be useful -
over to somebody who knows what they are doing

Karen - definitely a Large Yellow-Underwing (Noctua pronuba) - one of the commonest moths we have and the first I have seen this year (so far).

Quite agree with Steve, it also gets known as the Large Yellow Blunderwing - open your moth trap after a warm night in late July / August to find hundreds (well if you are using a Robinson Trap) of them trying to find a bit of carton to rest on and you'd know why !!
