Light Knot Grass (Acronicta menyanthidis):

My first new garden moth of the year appeared here in Higher Poynton last night, blown down from the moors (Light Knot Grass (Acronicta menyanthidis) - see attached photo below).

Sallow Kitten the previous night, follows 3 Alder Kittens and a Glaucous Shears (see attached photo below) over the weekend. Glaucous Shears, another wanderer from the hills, has also been caught this spring in Cheadle Hulme, Marple and Dukinfield and other moorland species; Fox Moth, have turned up in Heald Green and Beautiful Snout at Dukinfield in recent nights.

You seem to be doing better than me at the moment Steve!! Not too much exciting in the trap at Marbury, although the species count and numbers have gone up.
