Acrocercops brongniardella at Back Field, Norton Priory, Runcorn:

I found a number of the large, coalesced, blotch mines of the micro-moth Acrocercops brongniardella on the leaves of scrub Oaks (Quercus robur) in Back Field at Norton Priory, Runcorn today (26/06/2011). See picture of the mine below.

Steve

Blotch mine of the local, micro-moth: Acrocercops brongniardella.
This mine is formed by a number of larvae whose mines coalesce
into one large epidermal blotch.
