Flounced Rustic?

Post by fletcher »

Hello all, please find some photo's we have received of what I think could be a Flounced Rustic (Luperina testacea) ?

Can this be identified from a photograph?

Any help would be most welcome.

Many thanks,

Eric

Hi Eric,

If small enough, then how about Middle-barred Minor (Oligia fasciuncula) ? There were still plenty flying up at Tegg's Nose last night04/07/11), although I've not had any in the garden for the past week, so possibly over if taken in the lowlands. Do you have a date and site?

Regards

Steve

Hi Steve,

Thanks for this.

I bow to your better judgement; I am in no way an expert or for that matter even a dabbler!

I need to get myself a good moth book!

I have contacted the recorder for more info and I will update this post as soon as I have it.

Many thanks again,

Eric

Hi again Steve, this specimen was seen in a porch in Shocklach on the 19th June. It was also described as quite small.

I hope this is of use and thank you again for your help.

Eric
