An Early Juniper Carpet (Thera juniperata):
Cheshire's earliest ever Juniper Carpet (Thera juniperata) was caught at Heald Green by Barry Shaw on 24th July 2011.
The Juniper Carpet usually flies from late September until November, although most records are during October. I have been able to trace five previous August records, so early records are not unprecedented but this is our first for July.
