micros for confirmation /ID

Post by bobhelencoan »

Three micros from Sunday night. Two we think we have identified but they don't look quite like the photos in the books. The last was caught whilst on a walk in the fields near home approx. 8mm wing length. Closest we can get is a pine bud or similar.
Any help appreciated. Bob & Helen

Hi Bob & Helen
Agree with Ancylis achatana & Paraswammerdamia nebulella.
Your Cydia will be Zeiraphera isertana. We had the very same issue with a photo recently posted on the Facebook Group by Clive Jones.
I can't ID the other tortrix from your photos
Regards
Steve

Thanks Steve. We have registered for the facebook group but I can't load photos on it yet. I don't find it so easy to follow posts either. Helen

The moth that could not be identified by the photograph turned out to be a female Holly tortrix Rhopobota naevana. Thnaks to Steve Hind for the dissection. Bob & Helen
