Micros in need of help in identification

Post by bobhelencoan »

The micros on our last post bumper crop still need confirmation or correction of their identity. We managed to sort our several of the remaining bunch but still have a few micros that we need help to ID if it is at all possible. We have abandoned 10 others.
2 white coleophora that could be annatipennella or albidella. We have had anatipennella confirmed here before but not albidella.
UKN1 possible cydia fagiglandia or similar
Ukn 2 a general brown micro
Ukn 3 a small 5-6mm micro with a prominent orange patch on the termen. The whole termen looks metallic/gold.
Ukn 4 a small white micro 5-6mm with a dark cross band.

Any comments and help to ID these would be much appreciated. Bob & Helen

Hi Bob & Helen
Your Coleophora and Cnephasia (photo 2) would both need dissecting to determine.
Cydia fagiglandana is Ancylis achatana.
3 = Grapholita janthinana
4 looks like Cochylis atricapitana

Steve

Thanks again Steve. We did not think we would be able to give a positive ID to a couple of them so your efforts are much appreciated. We still have ukn 4 if that is any use. Bob & Helen

Have found we did actually have Cochylis atricapitana back in 2014 and our photos march so we feel safe to give that a positive ID, have released the moth. Bob & Helen

The two white Coleophora moths turned out to be female Coleophora albidella. A new moth for us. Thanks Steve
