Those pesky Grass-veneers

Post by JohnR »

I thought I was getting to grips with some of these. Not so. Please either confirm or identify my photos. There are 5 numbered individuals some showing blackish heads.

Cheers John

No.1 = Garden Grass-veneer Chrysoteuchia culmella
No.2 = Crambus pascuella
No.3 & 4 = Garden Grass-veneer Chrysoteuchia culmella
No.5 = Agriphila straminella

Chrysoteuchia culmella has the 'C' shaped outer cross-line, which is lacking in the similar sized Agriphila straminella

Regards
Steve
