Bordered Beauty NFG

Post by melbellingham »

Following a disappointing July for species and numbers (in my garden at least) and a slow start in August, which hadn’t started much better, I was pleased to find a Bordered Beauty on the wall adjacent to my trap last night (05/08/2020).

A new moth for the garden, always brings a smile.

Very fine Mel. You must be pretty darn pleased with that.

I checked its distribution to see how likely I was to catch one too - not very, it would seem. Looks like the exact opposite of a beast from the East in fact, only turning up in the West and centre of Cheshire.

But I can enjoy your photo instead!

Cheers, Julian
