More Grass-veneers
Re: More Grass-veneers
I struggle as well!
To start the ball rolling, I would say that all except number 3 are Agriphila tristella. I'm saying that because of (a) the broad white line (from the head end) narrows down at about one-third of the way down the wing; (b) the sub-terminal lines (certainly on 1,2 and 5) make quite an acute angle with the wing, and the termen seems to be raised above the level of the rest of the wing.
If pushed, I would say number 3 is A. tristella, as well.
I'd be grateful for further comments. I had 43 vaguely similar crambids in Tytherington on Friday night. I reckoned they were all A. tristella. Plus one Crambus pascuella and three Agriphila straminella.
Cheers,
Dave Maddy.
