The Easy and the Difficult

Post by shearwater »

Hi All
Not much happening on the coast lately, so not too many posts from me. This morning however brought polar opposites of moths. Firstly the easy, a nice Vestal NFG. (Sorry about the photo) The difficult...... well I think its possibly Deep Brown Dart, although as always i am open to suggestions!! Ive lightened the photo slightly for this one.
Cheers
Rob

Hi Rob,

I caught a Turnip Moth last night (19/09/2020) and it made me think that your moth could also be that species.

Hi Mel
Agreed its a Turnip Moth!! After a night in the fridge it emerged with its wings held tighter together, in Turnip Moth fashion. Didnt seem to look like that to me initially! Large Wainscot NFG yesterday was easier to ID, and is the only species of Wainscot I've had in the garden this year.
Now ..what time does Specsavers open??!
Cheers
Rob
