Last 2 leaf miners from Aston Mere

Post by Tim_Ward »

The final 2 mines with which I need help...
Firstly, there is leaf fold in Hazel. I wondered if this might be Parornix devoniella?
Secondly, there is a tree I can't identify, though I did wonder if it could be either Sweet Chestnut or a Cherry (photos attached). The mine ends in what looks like the dried out skin of a larva.
I'll be grateful for any help in identifying these 2 leaf miners.....
Tim

Hi Tim

Parornix devoniella is correct; as is cherry for the other; the miner is Apple Leaf Miner Lyonetia clerkella
