I can't work out what this one is.
The blotch/leaf-fold is tenanted but I can't work out whether the white-spotted occupant is a larva or a pupa.
Any ideas what this is?
Thanks,
Tim

Hi Tim
On your third photo shows a Phyllonorycter mine on the left and Ectoedemia albifasciella on the right.

Thanks Steve. I remain puzzled by the Phyllonorycter mine tenant, since I can't see a head! Is this a pupa do you think? (I originally wondered if it might be some kind of hoverfly larva). Is there good source of pictures of larvae and pupae for comparison purposes? (I've been using the leafmines website and Google but don't find them very complete)

Hi Tim
I tend not to open up Phyllonorycter mines as they rarely survive once opened. Any I am unsure on I try to rear, so have little experience in this area. Not sure if any of these sites might help you:
