How's it going for people now the weather's improved a bit? We're not exactly inundated, but still an improvement after the cold nights have (hopefully) ended!

16 moths of 7 species this morning, with one NFY, a fresh Glaucous Shears. Most records seem to come from the east of the county, but in sufficient numbers to suggest it could turn up anywhere.

Cheers, Julian

Two pugs and a Hebrew Character here in Tytherington, Macclesfield. I'd love to see a Glaucous Shears in the garden!

Others have reported for Sunday night (10th May) a blank (Chester) and five of four species (Davenham).

Comparing with the same week over the past few years, I had 8 of 5 (2020), 3 of 3 (2019) and 20 of 7 (2018).

After the normal "May lull" is over I'm expecting it all to kick-off again as we move from May towards June!

Hi Julian,

I've only ever caught 1 Glaucous Shears, it was nowhere near as fresh as yours.
That's a real beauty.

Greg
