Scoparia basistrigalis?

Post by JohnD »

Am I a fool to think this might be Scoparia basistrigalis? Seems to fit the image in Sterling and Parsons but there seems to be doubt about northern records and it isn't in Hind et al.'s Cheshire Moth Atlas. Be grateful for opinions. Caught 6-6-21

Hi John

You would need to retain it for dissecting but all the local 'Scoparia basistrigalis' I have checked have always been Scoparia ambigualis .

Steve

Thanks very much for this. Unfortunately I released the moth after photographing it and only got around to looking at the image this morning. I'll see if something similar turns up and if so retain it for dissection.
