Unidentified Phyllonorycter from 21st July

Post by MPStanyer »

I suspect these can only be confidently identified when reared from mines, but can anyone suggest a name or species group for either of the following two trapped on 21st July. The second & third images are of the same moth which looks rather dark and greyish - I was wondering if that could be a candidate for P. stettinensis? Any guidance greatly appreciated as ever.

Many thanks & apologies for rather poor/cropped images.

I reckon you are safe recording Phyllonorycter stettinensis but I would not attempt the other.

Thanks Steve, I thought the first would be identifiable but was hopeful of the second so thanks for that.
