Micros for ID

Post by bobhelencoan »

Two micros found in the house.
1. Case bearing clothes moth? in bedroom 25th August . We have had them before
2. Dichrorampha acuminatana? inside house 6th Sept
The third moth in the trap 8th September we think is another Dichrorampha acuminatana.
Is it possible to record them without dissection? Thanks Bob & Helen

Hi Helen
As with all species which can only be determined by dissection, you will have to use one of the aggregates. In these examples 'Micro sp. (Unidentified micro lepidoptera species)' would be the one I would suggest but remember to add the most likely species names in the comments field.

Steve
