Dordogne Moths:
I trapped near Bergerac over 4 nights - 12th to 16th September. As someone stated in the Spanish moths posts, it is surprising how many species I got that are on the UK list, though quite a few are immigrants trapped on Portland. My list is below, though I missed quite a few, especially Geometrids, because the birds got to many that didn't enter the trap. The saddest casualty was the Convolvulus Hawkmoth - I only found the wings - beautiful specimen too - bloody Magpies. Hornets were interesting. Loads of them in the trap, but there was no predation of the moths; I have read somewhere that this happens, but it didn't occur here. I have a few still unidentified & will post pics separately.
