Ptycholoma lecheana

Post by SteveH »

Ptycholoma lecheana:

Despite the weather being fairly dismal this morning, my local patch conjured up Ptycholoma lecheana, which I believe to be new to hectad SJ47. I also found the tenanted mine pictured, which I am taking as not being a moth since it was on Elm.

Cheers,
Steve

Hi Steve,

Nice picture of Ptycholoma lecheana.

Your leaf miner is a sawfly, although those feeding on Elm have not been fully sorted out yet. See over at: http://www.leafmines.co.uk/html/Hymenoptera/F.ulmi.htm

Regards,
Steve
