And the next one is ...... Phlyctaenia perlucidalis !!:

Hi Folks,

The new species keep on coming ...... last night produced a single Phlyctaenia perlucidalis or is it Anania perlucidalis these days? - amongst 56 species. It is worth mentioning that I reckon it could easily be overlooked IF, as we are at the moment, you are getting plenty of Mother of Pearl Pleuroptera ruralis. It is significantly smaller, and to my eyes hasn't anything like the pearly sheen of MOP. It is also (according to the new micro book) expanding its range, so its something to look out for.

The night also produced our first Orange Swift of the year, along with micro firsts in the shape of Pandemis corylana and Cacoecimorpha pronubana. On a sadder note, we are now long past our latest ever date for Light Arches, so it seems we've drawn our first ever blank year for that species.

Cheers,
Steve
