Tiny Geometer

Post by SteveH »

Hi Folks,

This 'micro' macro was in our trap this morning (Friday 17th August) ..... I can't say I've ever seen what I am taking to be a runt Willow Beauty as small as this one before. Looking through books, I can't make it into anything else, but am open to suggestions of different views.

This beast apart, the only additions to the year total were single Rhopobota naevana, Garden Dart and Ruby Tiger, though two more male Cnephasia longana and another Recurvella leucatella were of interest.

At Frodsham on 16th August .... still hundreds if not thousands of Spindle Ermine on the wing.

Cheers,
Steve
