Morning folks,
it must be getting near the end of our mothing year (traditionally we only trap from mid-late March to late October) as the trap was almost empty this morning. Best of a small bunch was a single Figure of Eight (Diloba caeruleocephala), and a couple of Blair's Shoulder Knot (Lithophane leautieri). The pristine Setaceous Hebrew Character (Xestia c-nigrum) was however one of the latest we've ever recorded, being surpassed only by five or six instances on later dates (29th October being the latest).
Cheers,
Steve

Hi Steve,
Funny how things can vary. I had 14 Figure of Eight (Diloba caeruleocephala) and 8 Setaceous Hebrew Character (Xestia c-nigrum) on the same night. 6 other moths made up the catch with a Red-green Carpet (Chloroclysta siterata) being a new one.
Cheers,
Steve
