Early instar Oak Eggar larva:
Hi Folks,
Seeing a larva in early November was a bit of a surprise yesterday, even if me not knowing what it was wasn't! For info, it was approximately 4cms long. Thanks to Steve Hind for another ID.
Other than that the day was probably most notable for finding tenanted mines of Stigmella betulicola, for only the second time on my local patch.
Cheers,
Steve

Re: Early instar Oak Eggar Larva
Cheers Steve,
Oak Eggar Lasiocampa quercus is on the list for SJ47 and even I suspect for SJ47G (through findings of Rog Wilko), but its a first for me in Cheshire and obviously for my local patch too!
