Online WEx session - Port Sunlight River Park

Post by RachelMC »

At our April Online Wildlife Exchange Session we're excited to be joined by Andy Jennings-Giles, Ranger at Port Sunlight River Park. Find out more about the park, its unique history, what's happening now and how you can get involved.

When? Wednesday 28 April 7:00pm - 8:30pm
How? Using free zoom software (more info below)

BOOK YOUR FREE PLACE

Just 15 years ago this area of land in Bromborough, Wirral was a landfill site. Careful restoration work has since transformed it into a thriving wildlife habitat and precious outdoor space for the local community. Andy will fill us in on the site's fascinating history and tell us about how it is now managed through a unique partnership between The Land Trust and Autism Together.

We'll learn about the challenges of managing this ex-industrial site for wildlife and people, find out what's been spotted so far and learn about exciting new projects planned for the park's future.

Plus come along to find out about how you can get involved with events, recording, volunteering and more.

The event is hosted on Zoom which is free to use in this context. You will receive a link to the session when you book your place. Only 1 ticket is needed per household (as long as you all watch through the same device).

These evenings provide a brilliant opportunity to learn a bit more about UK native species from local experts. They are hosted by RECORD and Chester Zoo. We are temporarily moving things online whilst face-to-face sessions aren't possible and hope you enjoy this new version of the events just as much!

This event has limited capacity - if you find that you are no longer able to attend, please cancel your place via Eventbrite or email info@record-lrc.co.uk so that someone else can take your place.
