Online Wildlife Exchange Session - Long-term monitoring at Thurstaston Common: a tale of 12 quadrats

Wednesday 29th September 2021 7:00pm to 8:30pm

Come along to our September Online Wildlife Exchange Session. We're joined by Dr Hilary Ash and Professor Rob Marrs who will be telling us about an amazing 39-year study focussed around heathland plant monitoring on Thurstaston Common.

For this project, data collection was largely carried out by a dedicated team of volunteers, with the information recently being transferred to a new digital system which has allowed the team to undertake important statistical analyses.

Hilary and Rob will be telling us more about the project and discussing how valuable this long-term monitoring has been for understanding the habitat and guiding management decisions at this important SSSI.

The event is hosted on Zoom which is free to use in this context. You will receive a link to the session when you book your place. Only one ticket is needed per household (as long as you all watch through the same device).

This event has limited capacity - if you find that you are no longer able to attend, please cancel your place via Eventbrite or email info@record-lrc.co.uk so that someone else can take your place.

These evenings provide a brilliant opportunity to learn a bit more about UK native species from local experts. They are hosted by RECORD and Chester Zoo. We are temporarily moving things online whilst face-to-face sessions aren't possible and hope you enjoy this new version of the events just as much!
