Trees for climate: Creating New Woodlands - Online Talk

Post by RachelMC »

Join us for our June Online Wildlife Exchange Session

Wednesday, 29 June 2022 19:00 – 20:30 BST

We're excited to be joined by Sophie Bray, Woodland Advisor for The Mersey Forest.

Trees can be a hugely valuable addition to many public green spaces, farms and other land holdings, if they are introduced with the right level of support. Trees for Climate is a five-year, multi-million pound woodland creation fund which is part of the Government-led Nature for Climate fund. The Mersey Forest is our local Community Forest covering Cheshire and Merseyside. With over 25 years’ experience, their knowledgeable team provide advice and insight on all aspects of woodland creation.

Sophie will tell us more about this exciting project, including what it involves and what it has achieved so far. We'll also discover more about the valuable role of biological records data in informing woodland creation decisions and how your own wildlife records have made a difference to this ambitious conservation project.
