Wildlife Exchange Session 28th August 2019

Post by RachelMC »

Wildlife Exchange Session - Coastal & Marine Wildlife

For our August Wildlife Exchange Session we will joined by Nia Jones and Dawn Thomas from North Wales Wildlife Trust who will tell us about recording coastal and marine wildlife. They will be looking at the differences between terrestrial and marine recording, and the challenges of recording at the interface between land and sea.

They will bring some of their exciting beach-combing finds, and explain how to get involved in coastal recording.

We will also find out about the Dee Coastliners Project, a partnership project being led by Cheshire Wildlife Trust, which aims to inspire coastal communities on the Wirral and in Flintshire and Denbighshire about the natural heritage of the Dee Estuary

These evenings provide an opportunity for wildlife recorders, conservationists and anyone with an interest in local wildlife to get together in a relaxed environment and find out about our natural environment and how it is changing. The ‘exchange’ sessions also allow sharing of ideas, knowledge, experience and views on Cheshire’s natural history and how we can monitor and conserve it.

Tea/coffee and snacks will be provided.

Hosted by RECORD and Chester Zoo.
