This is our 3rd Online Wildlife Exchange Session and we are delighted to be joined by Gary Hedges from The Tanyptera Project, which promotes the study and conservation of invertebrates in the North West.

At this talk, Gary will give us some updates on the work they do and tell us a little more about some of the amazing and often rare invertebrates found in our area.

The Tanyptera Project is a 7.5 year initiative (2017-2022) funded by the Tanyptera Trust. It promotes invertebrate recording and conservation across the North West, including Cheshire. The trust funds two full-time posts employed by National Museums Liverpool, supported with an annual budget to enable delivery of a variety of project activities. This includes running identification courses, drop-in lab days and recording days, together with commissioning surveys, administering a small grant scheme, improving world museum entomology facilities for the benefit of local recorders and making regional literature available via a project website.

The event is hosted on Zoom which is free to use in this context. You will receive a link to the session and joining instructions when you book your place. Only 1 ticket is needed per household (as long as you all watch through the same device).

These evenings provide a brilliant opportunity to learn a bit more about UK native species from local experts. They are hosted by RECORD and Chester Zoo. We are temporarily moving things online whilst face-to-face sessions aren't possible and hope you enjoy this new version of the events just as much!
