Online Wildlife Exchange Session - The Secret Life of Chester Zoo Nature Reserve

We'd like to invite you to our November Online Wildlife Exchange Session. Chloe from RECORD along with Helen and Sarah from Chester Zoo will be telling us more about the 'Secret Life' of Chester Zoo Nature Reserve.

Book your place here

Four years ago, an agricultural field was turned into a flower-rich meadow and ponds were created on the Nature Reserve at Chester Zoo, continuing a process of wildlife restoration on this site. Since then, the animals and plants arriving and taking advantage of this new space have been regularly recorded, and this talk gives an update on what we’ve found out, and how wildlife (and people!) have used the space during lockdown and beyond in 2020. We hope to give you a virtual visit to the reserve at various points across the spring and summer; introduce you to some of the vast network of plant and animal lives being lived out there; and give an insight into the process of gathering information so that we can track the changes happening.

Join Chloe Aldridge our Monitoring Officer here at RECORD along with Sarah Bird and Helen Bradshaw from Chester Zoo’s UK Conservation team to learn more about how the habitats on the nature reserve are providing space and opportunities for a range of the UK’s native wildlife.

The event is hosted on Zoom which is free to use in this context. You will receive a link to the session when you book your place. Only 1 ticket is needed per household (as long as you all watch through the same device).

These evenings provide a brilliant opportunity to learn a bit more about UK native species from local experts. They are hosted by RECORD and Chester Zoo. We are temporarily moving things online whilst face-to-face sessions aren't possible and hope you enjoy this new version of the events just as much!
